Shipping Policy for Tosatoukendo
At Tosatokendo, we are dedicated to offering authentic antique Japanese swords to collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. Due to the unique nature of these items, we have specific shipping and return policies to ensure transparency and protection for both parties.
Domestic Shipping (Japan)
- Processing Time: Orders are typically processed within 3-5 business days after payment confirmation.
- Shipping Method: Swords are shipped securely using insured carriers with tracking numbers provided.
- Delivery Time: Domestic shipments usually arrive within 7-10 business days.
- Returns for Online Purchases: Returns are only permitted for swords that are drastically different than described or arrive damaged. All claims must be made within 48 hours of delivery, and the sword must be returned in its original condition.
- In-Store Purchases: No returns are accepted for swords purchased in-store.
International Shipping
- Processing and Export Permit: Shipping antique Japanese swords overseas requires an export permit from the Japanese government, which can take up to one month to process. Orders will be shipped promptly after the permit is granted.
- Shipping Method: Swords are securely packaged and shipped via insured international carriers. Tracking information will be provided once the shipment is dispatched.
- Customs and Import Duties: The buyer is responsible for any customs fees, import duties, taxes, or other charges imposed by their country.
- Delivery Time: Delivery times vary based on destination but typically range from 4-6 weeks, including the export permit processing period. Delays due to customs or permit approvals are beyond our control.
- No Returns or Refunds: All international sales are final. Tosatoukendo does not accept returns, exchanges, or provide refunds for swords shipped outside of Japan.
Return Policy
- Eligibility: Returns are only accepted for swords that:
- Are drastically different from the description or images provided at the time of purchase.
- Arrive damaged due to shipping.
- Conditions: All claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. The sword must be returned in its original condition and packaging. If the claim is valid, we will offer a refund or exchange.
- Non-Returnable Items: Swords sold in-store or shipped internationally are non-returnable except under the conditions stated above.
